Historical Sonic Fireworks
From IMLab@LASHP
Historical Sonic Fireworks (a module of Remapping-LA) was a sound piece expressing the flow of history on and around the Los Angeles State Historic Park site. Unquestionably one of the state's most significant ecological and human gateways, through the ages the site has echoed the sounds of the Los Angeles River, native villages, Spanish explorers, pueblo settlers, railroad steel, immigrants' languages, industrial development, social struggles, busy freewaves, and much more. Historical Sonic Fireworks creatively explored this historical weave, celebrated its multi-ethnic foundation and invited reflection on the significance of the Los Angeles State Historic Park's IPU inauguration.
